Working Faster In The Studio, Writing Your First Song, and Sonic The Hedgehog
The Sonic part is really just for me

I’ve been watching WAY too much Sonic with my 3 year old…
But those movies are actually so sick though!
GOTTA GO FAST!!!!!

FAAAAAAAAASSSSTTTTT
A while back I made a video about how to be faster as a music producer.
That video never came out…
…Because I wanted to really push myself to use my own tactics for extended periods of time before giving advice that I had just started to use and seemed to be working for me.
That video is out today.
All 5 things that I talk about, if implemented, are a GUARANTEE for success in making you a faster, more accurate producer.
It’ll give you more time to be creative, more money because you can get clients across the finish line faster (with a better product), AND give you happier clients because it didn’t take months after they expected to be finished with a project, to still be working on it!
Since you are here reading this thought here are 3 short key takeaways from that video:
(but if you want a deeper explanation, watch the video)
3 KEY TAKEAWAYS:
Speed Differentiates Producers – Working quickly from an idea to a finished song helps producers stand out and retain clients in a competitive industry.
Efficiency Comes from Preparation – Mastering DAW shortcuts, pre-production planning, and workflow optimization significantly improves in-session production speed.
Time Constraints Boost Productivity – Setting deadlines and using focus techniques like the Pomodoro method can help maintain efficiency and ensure timely project completion.
Use these tools to make better art, provide better music for the world, and live a happier, more relaxed life!

BOOK REVIEW: HOW TO WRITE ONE SONG

“How To Write One Song” by Jeff Tweedy
📚 REVIEW:
Jeff Tweedy, the acclaimed songwriter and frontman of Wilco, offers a refreshing and insightful take on the creative process in How to Write One Song. More than just a guide to songwriting, this book delves into the philosophy behind creativity, the emotional connections forged through music, and the discipline required to cultivate inspiration.
Tweedy argues that the hardest part of songwriting is simply getting started. He highlights how songs serve as a means of connection, helping us feel less alone by expressing shared human experiences. Beyond crafting lyrics and melodies, songwriting becomes a therapeutic outlet, allowing individuals to process emotions and personal struggles while fostering deeper connections with listeners.
One of the most valuable lessons from the book is that inspiration isn’t purely spontaneous—it’s something that can be nurtured. Tweedy encourages songwriters to build daily habits that invite creativity rather than waiting for lightning to strike. He also emphasizes the power of authenticity, urging writers to embrace vulnerability and imperfection in their work.
How to Write One Song is an inspiring read for both aspiring and experienced songwriters. Tweedy’s insights extend beyond songwriting, offering valuable lessons for anyone engaged in creative work. His emphasis on routine, authenticity, and the joy of creation makes this book a must-read for musicians and artists alike.
