Before You Read On…Do This!
Last year around the end of June/beginning of July, I started doing a six month check-in with myself. Whatever this needs to look like for you I think it’s really important to do!
We all know the stat of people falling off of their New Years Resolutions blah blah (blah), but I’ve noticed the ones who tend to turn it around to have a better year over all re-focus, re-position, and re-structure themselves to succeed at the Six Month mark.
It’s actually kind of crazy to think that we can make a plan at the beginning of the year and not expect time and life to get in the way of our plans at every turn of every corner throughout. The best way to make sure we actually have a chance to achieve the goals we set are to be flexible, and what better way to be flexible than to assess the way your year is going so far and make tweaks to your goals, plans, and systems to ACTUALLY help you get to where you want to be by December 31st.
Below are a list of Questions I ask myself and I hope that you will also sit down and ask yourself these questions and take a good amount of time (maybe an hour or so) to REALLY think and press yourself about these questions. You can also do this for multiple facets of your life. Do it once for work, once for family, and once for health (or whatever major primary goal you have).
Grab a pen and some paper and let’s get self-reflective!
SIX MONTH REVIEW/REFLECTION:
1. What is ONE THING you do that moves the needle more than it should?
(How can you do MORE of that thing?)
2. What's Something that FEELS Productive, but actually isn't?
3. What's something that DOESN'T Feel Productive, but actually IS?
4. Looking back at the last 6 Months, what is 1 thing you wish you could do LESS of???
5. What are your Habits you are trying to build?
5a. What Habit is Growing?
5b. What Habit Needs to be Cut?
5c. Do you need to replace that cut habit? (Y/N) and why?
6. Are you happy?
If Yes, Why?
If No, How can you work towards making it a "yes"?
If you want to see my answers about this, I’m filming a podcast episode going through my answers to these EXACT questions as well as some deeper reflections this week and that will be out soon (in a couple weeks).

The Podcast Conversation I’ve Always Wanted To Have! (and turning a Demo into a Kpop Track)
A couple weeks ago I published a podcast episode that I have been thinking about and trying to make happen for a LONG while!
When I started the Home Studio Hangout Podcast I had a dream to one day be able to host friends of mine that are specialized in their areas and not only connect them as fellow studio people and creatives, but also have them weigh in on conversations that regularly happen regarding their specific areas of expertise!
Well that episode is finally OUT and if you haven’t watched it already, I’m super proud of how it turned out! I was able to have my friends Andrew Chapman, Jesse Shirts, and Brad Phillips, as well as myself sit around a table and chat about working and running a studio on a regular weekly basis. The common misconceptions as well as some hot button topics like Ai, the decline of Studios as we knew it, and the importance (or not) of rules in music and engineering.
It’s super fun and we had some good laughs during the whole time as well. Thankful to the guys for letting me use them as testers for this show idea, and I’m hoping to get new ones scheduled and ready to go as soon as I can!
Check Out The Episode Here:
and if you missed my main channel video, I showed how I took a song from a simple piano demo to a Kpop track and what it’s like translating the artists’ vision into what they are actually looking for from their music!

What I’m Reading:
“A Parade Of Horribles” by Matt Dinniman (DCC Book 8)

This is a series I started last year and I was immediately hooked!
Dungeon Crawler Carl has been one of the most fun 8 books (and counting) I’ve read in a really long time, not to mention the work Jeff Hayes puts into the audiobooks make this such a stellar option to experience immersion reading (listening and reading at the same time). This continues the WILD story of Carl and his sentient cat Princess Donut as they push through more floors of the game show of Dungeon Crawler World.
If you’ve never read this I HIGHLY recommend it, especially because it got picked up recently by Paramount Plus for a TV deal adaptation! So there is no better time to dive in like the present on this monumental series!
I just finished this book (Book #8) the other day and it was absolutely another 10/10 for the series as a whole!

Next Book (hopefully): “The 5 Types Of Wealth” by Sahil Bloom
Thanks to YOU ❤
I just wanted to take a second to say “Thank You” to anyone and everyone who reads this newsletter. This is fully a passion project to work on my writing skills and have a place to dump my thoughts and things I’m learning to hopefully help others that might need similar insights.
If you get something out of this please share it with someone who you might think would enjoy the ramblings of someone learning on stage with the occasional insight and more often dumb puns and bad jokes (that’s why you stay…I’m sure of it)
also if you have any book suggestions for me or things you think that I can improve on with this newsletter, PLEASE reply and let me know!
I would love to make this something you enjoy coming back to even more than you already do!
See you in the next one!
